Santa Clarita Valley: Vacant House Check Program

In partnership with the City of Santa Clarita and the County of Los Angeles, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's Crime Prevention Unit recently launched a program to safeguard vacant homes and commercial sites.

If not maintained, secured, and frequently checked, vacant structures can become a haven for incidents of trespassing, vandalism, unlawful parties, arson, drug use, and other illegal or nuisance related activities that can reduce property values and challenge the peace, serenity, and safety of neighborhoods.

But law enforcement needs help from the public.

Anyone aware of a vacant or abandoned structure that appears to be run-down or attracting a criminal element, can fill out a simple form at the following link:

Provide as much information as possible about the property and it will be checked out. Working together during challenging times we can make a difference.
